Well if this works, kudos to Pam for recommending Picasa 2 and thank you to all those with recommendations. I am keeping my fingers crossed this actually posts the photos but I will type this as if it did. Well, the first photo is my mom's late birthday present. It is a mistake rib scarf and a coordinated hat which I obtained the pattern from Yarnplay. Granted the mistake rib is a basic pattern which you could google, the hat I have to admit is pretty creative and so simply creative why I haven't seen it sooner I do not know. It is made out of Malabrigo (of course) Rojo Intenso. I admit I wore the hat the other day after I couldn't find our still packed scarves and such and it was oh so warm.
The second photo is an ongoing scarf which is seed stitch made out of Malabrigo (notice a pattern here?). Although, I originally imagined this scarf being given to DH I am thinking of giving this as a gift to an artist who gave us a painting. It is coming out really nice even though the diamonds have disappeared and what is really strange they disappeared before I started the second skein. Go figure!
One pleasure of owning our own home is that DH has his own room (the office) and I have an arts and crafts room. The room is extremely rectangular, translation is that it is very short but long so I am still maneuvering the room to best use the space. When you first wook in the room you are greeted by a wood armoire (not pictured) which stores my scrapbooking. The armoire was purchased by my parents for $10 over thirty years ago in a garage sale. I love it because it is so unique, maybe I should post its pic. Ah, nevermind. Anyways, on the other end of the wall is my knitting nook. In between are two chairs for sitting and knitting.
At the end of the room is an oak bookcase which is given to me for free. Now, I love this piece. The friend of a friend who had the piece for decades found the piece when a library was updating its shelving to metal. The bookcase is a perfect storage unit for books, baskets filled with yarn, and space for growth. I have a tiffany-style lamp sitting on top of the bookcase (as you can see) and I have some lovely acquisitions from Homegoods (love it!). Although, this may appear organized the reality is that on the other side of the wall are piles of boxes, yarn in bags (I need more baskets) and random things. In addition we learned yesterday that one of the cats has not been adjusting to the move and expressing this by converting its cat bed into a litterbox. Yup. One of the cat beds was in the art room. We lifted the carpet this afternoon and sprayed Nature's Miracle to remove the odor and what a freaking odor it is! Tomorrow, I will be spraying again. What we did learn is that we don't like the carpet in this room and are considering in the future to switching to a different flooring.
The little offender (ahem the peeing cat) has only targeted the cat beds. The previous owners had cats and it is a possibility that she is placing her odor in the home. However, we have been in the house for a little over two weeks now. DH has been house sitting for friend's and taking care of their pug and I think that is the larger influence. Another factor is that the litterboxes are in the basement and we think her trip to the basement is being blocked by the other cats. We are accommodating her needs by adding another litterbox. What the cats want, the cats get.
Can anyone hear me out there? I have only been playing with this new and improved Blogger for an hour and I can't figure out anything. I am continually kicked off the blogger site. I can't update the photos. Does anybody hear me?
Update as of January 17
I would love to post photos (knitting and house) and after two hours of researching last night and another hour tonight, I have learned the tool I use Hello is not compatible with the new blogger. Now, I was half asleeep when I accidently clicked on the conversion (shame on me), but the fact that I had to learn this through a Google group is horrible. Hello is still recommended and the issue has been known for a while. So sadly, I have no photos. It seems I will be researching tools to post photos or.... I guess I could upload directly from the computer, but there should be an easier way.
Happy New Year! Well, we are officially in the house and functioning. Somewhat. The delay in posting is the fault of a weird network. Since we moved in the house we have days the phone doesn't work, email doesn't work, internet doesn't work, etc. Technical issues seem to be subsiding and knitting has resumed in Chez Kahlo.
Did I mention I have an art room? Yessiree, a room that holds scrapbooking and knitting. I did start organizing the room and I may even post photos of the room. I have an old oak bookcase to hold books, patterns, and sigh fiber and notions. I have two chairs in the room and one scratching post for the cats (facing the window so they can protect the home from four legged intruders such as squirrels).
Well, this brief post is to state I am somewhat back. I will post photos of the Central Park Hoodie which is progressing, my mom's birthday present (scarf and hat in Malabrigo of course), baby hats and blankets, and new goodies. Until than, ttfn (ta ta for now).
