I must be really blah because after I saw the blog rating on SpinWeaveKnitandCake's blog I tracked down this little rating system to learn I am G. I need more scandal in the blog, I guess more profanity. It seems my homage to "The Sofa King" is missed on the rating system. Oh well.

DH surprised me today with a new camera for of course exactly what I am posting right now- blogging. I do love this camera and as it is the same one as my last one, I am already familiar with everything. Sadly, I lost photos of Anna Bannana's baby shower. Speaking of babies, here is the updated photo of Gracie's birthday present. It is a pink poncho in Cotton Fleece. I was considering adding a hood but don't want to mess too much with the sizing. And you might have noticed the ends need to be weaved in, but it is all ready to go.
This second project is the Daria project. As I mentioned Barbara introduced me to this pattern for a leash and I think it requires 1.5 skeins. I am dipping into the second skein. It is very cool, although a little awkward.
Other than that, I start work on Monday for the summer employment and I am getting ready to mail out a HP SP package.

That's a good question, I am more curious where is my digital camera that has disappeared from my home. Well, camera has gone missing, it is official after three weeks someone took my camera. So, no photos. No photos of the amazing package Jess sent me. No photos of completed projects (ok, no completed projects but nonetheless) and no photos of Maya in her new collar.

What has been going on?

  • We brought Ella for dental surgery today. She has calculus (yes, her mouth does complicated math problems!) and had to have some teeth removed. She is recovering fine.
  • Maya has learned to sit. It is her trick for everything. She wants attention she sits. Ah, the power of sitting.
  • I am still slowly completing the Log Cabin Blanket. Robbie is probably kicking my *ss on this challenge.
  • I am knitting a dog leash using Daria. It is pretty and I think will only take 1.5 skeins. Barbara at stix came up with this idea which is coming out nicely.
I will post some photos of the Grounds for Sculpture which if you are in Jersey-you should definitely explore it. Amazing!

Thank you so much to my SP10 spoiler! Look at this wonderful package which includes: Knitpicks Color Your Own yarn, all sorts of dyes, two types of tea, coffee creamer, chamomile soap, a lovely needle case (and I forgot to pull them out but there is also some kool aids for dyeing). Izzy even investigated the package but for some reason was camera shy so only his derriere is shown. My SP has been very thoughtful.
Margaret got me some Lorna's Laces Purple Club for my birthday. Here it is all wound up. Oh, it's so pretty. Well, I tried the garter rib pattern but I ripped it, and then I tried the Tropicana pattern from MagKnits but it was too big (I think I added a few extra stitches), and at that point I went with straight stockinette. In Tropicana's defense, the yarn looked amazing in the pattern. BTW, I just noticed MagKnits has a new issue, I think the Judith is nice.
So, here is sock #1, done. I go on to sock #2. Lorna's pools in strange places, but it's a lesson in letting go, it's all good. And when all is said and done, it is a sock, that goes on my foot and will be used quite happily.
And at stix yesterday, what did I notice? Oh, the lime green chibi which fits oh so perfectly in the belly of my lime green frog. Ribbit. My frog is full. I did also pick up some Claudia Handpainted for my spoilee in two swaps but due to possibility of revealing myself I cannot post. I haven't knit with Claudia (yet).

Before: Whole Chicken with special rub placed all over the chicken and under the skin. Beer can placed inside (make all the jokes you want we certainly did). Bobby Flay's recipe. (For all those with really good eyes the can of Kong Pate was for Maya, not for us).
After: Let me clarify almost two hours later off the barbeque. Unfortunately, it still needed a little cooking even though the temperature matched what was listed. It tasted delicious and we will definitely try this again.
