Love from England translates into a pound of cheddar cheese in the shape of a heart. Don't read into the heart being sliced in half, Ben grabbed the heart of cheese before I grabbed the camera.

Crackhead! Words we will never use to describe him are camera shy.

What did Izzy smoke? Why, absolutely nothing.

The end. I have completed the Harlot's Poncho within the Knitting Olympics deadline. Ironically, I have also completed some other larger projects I had to do at home (non-knitting related). I was very happy to complete the poncho due to the large amounts of yarn sitting at home and also because I can wear it. Yeah!

Anyways, back to a little knitting, the original Bad News Bears, and a chapter on Existential Counseling Theory. This should be a page turner or a mind bender, either which way, I have to write a two page summary due tomorrow.

Billie aka Puffy Tail is a character. Here she is sitting in daddy's chair. She hugs his clothes, shoes, and books. Need I say more?

I am done! I am done! Harlot Poncho in Rio de la Plata and check items off my Knitting Olympics and my Resolutions. Yeah!

My new project involving Trendsetter yarn. It is a mix of fun fur, ribbon and something else, but so incredibily soft. This is my watch tv knitting project.

As promised the Gryffindor scarf in the middle of its tenth bar. Sadly, I am running out of yarn so dye lots be damned. At least I can order some yarn for my Ravenclaw scarf.

Who is having the best week ever? Well, it was not me, rather it was Rufus, the tan and white English Bull Terrier who won the Westminster Kennel Show. The reason this has been celebrated in our household is due to the fact my husband had a Bully in the UK and we are planning on getting one when we buy a home. Rufus won due to his perfectly egg shaped head. Another reason it is exciting Rufus won is that he is the first one of his breed to win the Best in Show title that's correct, no other colored English Bull Terrier has won this title (something I noticed a while ago). And the last reason, we have been following this pooch's visit to tvland and newspaper articles is that he is from Jersey, that is, New Jersey. Our Garden State.

We congratulate, our fellow Jerseyans, Rufus and his owners.

On other news. I started my new job on Thursday and after two aleve and twelve hours of sleep, I was ready for my second day. It is anything but boring and there are challenges abound. Ironically, I have next week off. My introduction to education has been fun. I can honestly, I will enjoy my first week. My second week might be a little different.

I am almost to ten bars on the Harry Potter scarf. I promise to post pictures. I have to double check if the scarf calls for 13 or 14 bars. However, that is almost complete.

As far as the Harlot's poncho, I am on my fourth skein of Rio yarn and it is looking pretty nice, but more importantly, it feels soft and warm. I am getting my courage to make another poncho of sorts, but that will come after the Big Bad Baby Blanket. Oh yes. Oh yes, another BBBB. I was able to grab some Scoubi Du yarn on sale from s-n-s and so it will become a blanket for the unnamed and ungendered (yet) husband's cousin's baby. News travels slow from the UK contingency to the US contingency, therefore, I bought the multicolored (white, blue, pink, yellow, and green) yarn. Anyways, fingers crossed. I should finish the poncho in time for the end of the Olympics.

Starting my new job on Thursday, I need to get up incredibly early, so Ben decided I need to get up early now to get into practice. So, today, I was early awake and doing errands. Now, at 5:30 I am ready go to sleep. Before the PAWS meeting, I will definitely stop by Starbuck's for a grande toffee nut latte.

Ben and I were enjoying tv when a commercial for a Sci Fi made for tv movie came on about a volcano attacking New York. Ben looks to me and asks, "What hasn't attacked NY in the movies?" (Disclaimer: As someone who worked in NY for the two most recent historical incidents I only ask this in humor and not to disrespect).

So far what we remember has attacked NY in the movies:

  1. An oversized monkey (King Kong)
  2. An oversize Lizard (Godzilla)
  3. Aliens (Independence Day)
  4. An oversized tidal wave (Deep Impact)
  5. Freezing temperatures (Day After Tomorrow)
  6. Insects (Mimic-I think it was NY)
  7. Oversized Stay Puff Marshmallow Man (Ghostbusters)
  8. Oversized Ooze/Goo/Slime (Ghostbusters 2)
  9. Zombies (we can't think of a film, but we are 100% there is one)
  10. Neo-Nazis (Die Hard with A Vengeance)

Can you think of any others? Maybe squirrels?

Although, I have never been a fan of the Olympics, I was definitely intrigued to learn of the Yarn Harlot's Knitting Olympics. So, with more than a few skeins of the cranberry Rio De La Plata yarn sitting on the floor whispering to be made into the very said Harlot's "Very Harlot Poncho", I registered. I wish knitting worked like Field of Dreams, as the yarn whispers, "Buy me and the needles will make something special".

I casted on at 2pm yesterday as per the instructions and I have finished a few inches, which is good because next week will strike a major delay due to a large project due for my class.

Happy Birthday Honey! It's my hubby's b-day. I woke up to him singing himself, "It's my birthday, it's my birthday," so half asleep I started singing "Happy Birthday to you..." and then feel asleep. We are heading to the Border, On the Border that is. Can you say margaritas?

Five bars done on the HP scarf. Eight more to go.

On a more academic note, I have one paper to write today which is a summary on Jungian theory and I have to start my longer paper for next week (research all done).

I am working on this paper for my Counseling Theories class and I rented a video on my subject material so I can bring some classroom examples during my presentation. Anyways, hubby and I are at the library and I mention to the man who knows all things Harry Potter but hasn't read the last book, "Oh see if they have the last book". Granted, I don't even know the name of the book. Surprise, surprise, they have the book! So, every night you can see hubby sitting in his reclinir chair reading HP. Meanwhile, even though I hit the Super Sale at sns, I decide to pick up my knitpicks yarn and begin the Prisoner of Azkhaban scarf. Hubby looks at me knitting the first band and smiles, "Is that my Gryffindor scarf?" Now, honestly, I am debating if I have the patience to make another one of these, and he never even finished the Sorting Hat quiz to determine which house he belongs, so I just don't know who gets the scarf upon completion.

BTW, I am Ravenclaw.

Well, stix-n-stitches has their super sale yesterday and I wish I brought my camera for the insanity. I only arrived five minutes after the doors opened and it was impossible to even look at their back wall. After an hour, I surrendered to my decisions and walked away with some solid purchases that will become specific gifts for family members.

I picked up :

2 skeins of Karaoke in green - scarf
3 skeins of Karaoke in mermaid - scarf
3 skeins of Pandora hot pink - scarf
4 skeins of Frappe in moss - SNB Nation spiderweb capelet
2 skeins of Lang Pearl in pink - scarf
1 skein of Magallenes in variegated brown - scarf
1 skein of Magallenes in variegated bright colors - I have no idea!

I think this was my largest purchase ever. On the bright side, I did purchase with intent and ideas of what to make, so this should be converted into gifts shortly (this being in the next year).

I did stroll by Modern Yarn to investigate their sale. Sadly, nothing jumped at me, but I did find a yarn I am in love with, so after these have been made, I may need to debate purchasing it for a scarf.

Ok, I admit it. I want to make scarves, and more scarves and more scarves.

I am debating joining the Yarn Harlot's Knitting Olympics. I think this would be great to motivate me to make the Very Harlot Poncho that been on my to do list for months. I have the yarn, Rio De La Plata in burgundy, and I just have not made the commitment. It will definitely be a challenge because it would be a poncho and a large project in my terms.

Bird's eye view of my bag...

Far away perspective...

Up close and personal with the goodies.
