So, I do need to post the pics of the results of felting my blankets, not my blankets, but the two cat beds I was working on. The first one was for Ella and was pink and actually came out nice. The second one was used from yarn from vairous garage sales and one bargain bin. The issue is that the second I soon learned wasn't all wool and thus part of the bed felted and the other yarn got bigger. So... that will now be a cat blanket in the knit 4 paws.

I just got back from SNB, and it was exciting because we had just been announced in Barista. We are excited about the yarn stores opening. I have to put my online purchases on hold, so I go shopping when the stores have their grand opening.

I am now working on a wrap for my sister-in-law in various turqouise color yarns. I knit around two rows each way into the commute, and then a few more at home. This may take a while, but I am going to be knitting this weekend....

Oh! I need a nap.

The Knit Out in the Park in Verona went very well. We had six folks in total and had eight blankets donated which is great. I will probably upload these same photos plus ones of the blankets to the website.

We started at 12pm. Joan and I were the first ones there, and then we were surprised to be greeted by Ed from the newspaper to take photos. We then were greeted with Linda, Katie, Eva and Ed. We migrated over to the bench right by the water and the boathouse and sat down to knit and crochet for the afternoon.

I have to say I have not been outside (working two jobs) this spring or summer, and this was the first day I spent outside and I had a blast. The company was great, the people so friendly, and I was able to knit, just knit in the sun (my red face proves it). I was so content, it was fabulous! Linda has volunteered to make a banner for the next event so people know where to meet us, and we have a few more ideas.

It was a great time, I am so happy to have the folks attend that did, and thank you for the support!

Eight blankets donated at this knit out, although a few were completed ahead of time. The teal and orange round one is my second knitty kitty bed.

Eva and Ed knitting and crocheting, still the picture is crooked...

Ok, the picture is crooked, but I don;t know how to fix using my Hello.

Katie demonstrating the current state of my Wendy Knits knitted kitty bed (prior to felting obviously), how fetching!

Katie throwing yarn in the air as Eva watches and Ed smiles.

The group from afar, A small crowd of six but we made eight blankets all together.

Knit Out in the Park for Knit 4 PAWS

I am eating right now, yummy, not the best thing at 10 at night, but still yummy...So, I finally have posted pics of the yarn I have purchased but, in my defense, this was purchased over the past three weeks. I should take pictures of the receipts to prove it, as some skeptics doubt this statement.

I did receive the sheep tape measures from Yarnware which will be prizes in the Knit 4 PAWS knit a thon.

So, I keep reminding myself why I don't give catnip to my cats. They actually do react, and three of them have a calm high, they relax and roll around to the theme of 70's easy listening love songs. But, you must remember I have four cats, and one cat doesn't relax and roll around to 70's easy listening love songs, this cat listens to Anthrax and Public Enemy "Bring Da Noise". This cat also enjoys WWE, and thus slams the other cats, turning our living room into a mosh pit. For those of you who don't know, it is Izzy.

So, Ben and I went to PAWS today to do night socializing. Montclair has a huge population of stray and feral cats. When PAWS receives cats a lot of times the cats require socialization. Some cats don't understand petting feels good (hey, no comments from the peanut gallery) , or that humans are friendly. Some cats are just extremely shy, some are scared, some come from homes where they are abused, and some are feral. The cat group socializes the cats slowly working with them to accustom them to our strange human ways. So, below are photos of the some of the new cats I wish I could take home.

Well, I am getting along with the cat beds and I will check in later..

This cat is so adorable and was given up because the people were moving. Cat is friendly, and sadly we think was burned. Kristina loves this cat!

Sasha is a beautiful ginger long haired cat available for adoption at PAWS. She is incredibly friendly, can be held, and is so pretty. If I already didn't have four, I would take her home...

Adrienne Vittadini, which I picked up from Stitches East on Sale. I am hoping into making into a shawl for the Diva (Ben's grandma).

Debbie Bliss charcoal grey, currently debating my options on this one...

Yarn I picked up from Stix and Stitch a soon to be opened yarn store on Glenridge Ave. Not bad!

Needles my mom picked up in a garage sale. I estimate a dozen aluminum needles, five crochet hooks, stitch markers, ...

Stinky's new bed. Mary M. donated a bunch of yarn and the next day Izzy converted the box that held the yarn into a cozy bed.

A lot has happened, my grandfather had passed away which somehow distorted time for me. I know he was sick and he was getting worse very quickly, but somehow when he was constantly going from the hospital and rehab, it just made me lose track of time.

We received 21 blankets from the Senior Care Center which I am in the process of posting photos. We also received more skeins for the women which is perfect timing because we almost ran out of yarn. Barbara B. had donated 12 skeins, and Mary M. donated 9, plus some yarn we received at the shelter and a purchase my mom at a yard sale.

Ben and I have been doing the furniture shuffle, so we have been in a state of clutter for three weeks, but that is now settling done. Especially once we remove the desk from our place. The new one is in place and actually we love it! It stores everything and we shut the doors, which is excellent to cut down on cat fur.

We may be looking into organizing a fundraiser at the local jazz club which is super sweet! THey have great performers come, so I will update as that progresses. Ok, must go and post some photos and then I will update the blog more...
